When I think of France the first things that come to mind are long summers wining and dining whilst in the company of friends & eating fine food Le Petit Prince delivers this.Nestled in the leafy streets of Armadale although relatively new it blends in well with its fellow brethren, cafes, high-end shops & markets. We were greeted by the lovely co/owner of Le Petit Prince Melissa who proceeded to tell us about the specials, each dish sounded wonderful, but I had already checked out the menu prior and being the sweet tooth that I am I had my heart set on the french toast.
French toast with caramelized banana peanut butter cream and maple syrup.
When this dish arrived to our table it was beautifully presented. This sweet and salty dish would really appeal to peanut butter lovers like myself with thick slabs of brioche soaked in maple syrup with a generous serve of peanut butter and the crunchy texture of peanuts made this dish purely indulgent .There was a lot of beverages too choose from but as I love all things matcha, naturally I had to choose the matcha latte, which was perfect.
Prince Chicken Burger-with Emmental cheese, tomatoes, house slaw, jalapeno and garlic aioli served with nachos and avocado salsa
This burger is one of those things that would make one contemplate kidnapping the chef for, it is a story with a start middle and end.All of the ingredients were perfectly melded together ,which left me satisfied not half empty not half full but just right.I particularly enjoyed the highlights of jalapeno goodness with each and every bite and the mouth watering emmental melted cheese. The burger was a struggle to keep uniform in my hands but getting your fingers dirty is sometimes a necessary evil and all part of the fun.
I also spied a selection of fresh sweet treats including oregano scrolls in the patisserie cabinet which would go down well with a spot of coffee and perhaps a bit retail therapy on high st to work of those decadent morsels.
This cafe is in a great location with ample outdoor seating and charming interiors with a diverse menu is sure to satisfy sweet tooths and those that Enjoy more savory options.
