Reassurance

Being a fitness and lifestyle blogger over the years I have consistently needed to maintain a healthy body, but this was not always the case.Growing up I was a stalwart hands on adventurous type I’d  often enjoy numerous outdoors activities. When there was something tough to do I was always first in line raising my hand eager for the challenge. But my focus as a youngster was never on my own health, the headstrong “I am Super GIRL!” attitude would sometimes come at a cost, paid in full with bumps lumps and bruises and the occasional broken limb.We can all agree that in our youth we never put a thought into our health and well being.

But now I’m a young adult with a full time home business and have become mindful of the importance of looking after myself.I would no longer be able to sit on the sideline if I was to succumb to injury or illness.I needed to put in place a safe guard,in the form of Private Health Care.

These days there are a million and one companies offering all types of cover and we are sometimes left scratching our scalps perplexed by the overwhelming amount of options.Often times getting covered for ridiculous things that have 0% likely hood of ever happening, whilst throwing away our hard earned dollars.

Once again I  have flung my hand up to take on the challenge of finding the right cover:) The road ahead will be a long one, because I need to know what I’m getting and especially what I pay for. When I first look for anything these days it has to be simple and direct.I ask myself what will be my perfect fit that’s geared towards my lifestyle.I have dealt with insurance companies in the past and it can be a very difficult task to ascertain what is actually being covered.

Removing my Daily Stress

As some of my followers know I have been suffering from Osteoarthritis and other ailments, and need to see a Physio and Chiro on a regular basis.Having some sort of cover can help with any financial burden of dealing with the cost on my own. This alone could save my purse from hungry medical bills and reassured me I would be able to continue getting treatment.

Another stress Ive found in the past is “Time off”(From Injury & Illness),whether that’s from shooting on set or spending time with my friends and family. How many times have you been to a public emergency room and waited for 8 hours or more.Or you needed to fore fill a clients briefing and were unable to get back in the saddle.I don’t know about you but my work and home life go hand in hand.Incidentally on the subject of emergency rooms visits, recently I had to make one in the form of a motor cycle accident on the way to a very important job.I could go into the gruesome details but believe me it was a nasty crash.Fortunately for me I was covered and I was back in action in no time ,with my wits and my stress  contained within nominal levels phewww.Most times its not the accidents that give us the most heartache its the medical expense and the quality of care you receive afterwards. My jaunt over the handle bars may have been scary but It could have been a whole lot worse had I not pre planned ahead with Private Health Insurer Bupa.

Conclusion

As a blogger I am always on the front foot thinking about tomorrow and what challenges lay ahead ,and the idea of not having a safety net there would be like riding my motorcycle blindfolded in a room full of rocking chairs.Bupa in my opinion gave me some of the best insurance formats to date. Transparency in companies polices these days is a must have,as is quality of service.

Its like the old adage says its better to have something you don’t need rather need something you don’t have.If you, like me want to ensure the future of your health should be protected then join me today and grab yourself a membership .You could save money and headaches:)

Getting health care for the first time?Your not alone Ive been there as-well and with Bupa I found they had a lot of choice,Covering you with quality polices in case you are dealt the unlucky hand. They may possibly have one that fits your busy lifestyle. So why not give the friendly staff a call and have a chat, you can even go online or send them an email.

  1. Good healthcare insurance is so so sooo important. My husband recently broke his leg in an awful motorbike wreck, and I can’t imagine what we would have done without insurance. The idea of needing to pay for his surgeries and physical therapies out of pocket is horrifying.

  2. Our health should be always our TOP priority!! I always believe in taking proper care of ourselves cos that is the only body we have . The costs is medical care can really be unpredictable and might be a shock to us sometimes, but with Bupa, things feel more undercontrol. It is great to know that you make it out unscathed from your bike accident!

  3. Now this is a subject of great interest to me as I’ve experienced both sides of it so to say. When I lived in the States, me and my parents for obvious reasons had private health care as Obamacare didn’t exist back then (and soon won’t again), but then again in Sweden we have free healthcare which kind of takes away the need for a health care insurance. With that said, it might be free, but that sometimes means long hours waiting and as you pointed out, who wants to spend 8 hours in a waiting room? There are some private clinics over here too and I’ve just signed up for a private health care plan just to be safe. Like you said, you might be healthy today, but this is an insurance as well as an investment for the future and takes a lot of stress off your back!

  4. Omg, I’m glad you were ok after the motorcycle accident! That can be very scary. I’m also glad you have a great insurance company so you could focus more on healing and getting better, rather than worrying about the expenses of it. It’s very important to make sure you have proper coverage for when life throws you these unexpected hurdles.

  5. Health care is such a challenge for so many, and you are completely right when it comes to what it means to get coverage & care that is right for you. I love that you wrote about this topic for bloggers who work full-time as their business. It’s not something many people think about. Thank you for sharing your personal story to make a great point about self-care. xo, Jessica

  6. Health is definitely a number one thing we need to focus on always. I’m sorry to hear about your osteoarthritis. I hope you can find something that will help you out long term. I haven’t had to find insurance on my own but I know it’s a total pain. I’ve never heard about Bupa but it sounds really awesome! I will have to keep it in mind if I ever go the freelance route. Thanks for the tip

  7. I can relate to this post. I’m a mid twenties year old girl, healthy with no history of any medical conditions. So naturally, I thought to myself why waste money on health insurance right. Then boom, I got pregnant, and even though it was planned parenthood and it is everything my husband and I wanted, I still didn’t anticipate the medical bills to be this much of a headache. So I have no cover right now and have been paying for all doctor visits, labs and ultrasounds out of pocket. If only I knew to sign up for health insurance sooner, it would have saved me so much on the bills. Lessons learned, I will always be covered from now on.

And omg, I’m so sorry to hear about your accident. I’m so glad you are okay and were covered! Bupa sounds like a really good health care company. Everyone who doesn’t have coverage should definitely check it out!

  8. It must be so stressful to have to look for your own healthcare. I’ve always had it through work or my husband. I don’t know what I would do if I had to start looking for my own coverage. That must be tough having to deal with osteoarthritis. And I can’t believe you survived a motorcycle crash! You are so lucky! My husband had a bike and took a spill and it’s scary stuff! Bupa sounds like a great company with great coverage. Sounds like you made the right choice!

  9. This post is very informative and as a full-time stylist and blogger I agree about what you are saying here. Healthcare is the most important and valuable thing in the world. Sorry to hear about the Osteoarthritis that you suffer but is good to know that you are taking care of that with your coverage.
It looks like Bupa has an amazing service. I’m from Mexico and I just moved to the states four years ago, so I’m dealing with all the issues regarding insurance companies.
    Thanks for sharing!

  11. OMG girl! I feel ya, when I was younger I always pushed the limits and I swear ended up in the hospital all the time. It’s can be so stressful trying finding the right insurance that not only fits your lifestyle but also your health needs and possibly emergencies! It sounds like Bupa is one of the few companies that actually care about your health and finding that perfect plan for you, I will definitely need to check them out! -xx

  12. I swear before I read your post, from knowing you through IG I know you are a tough chic who likes the challenge. I am sorry to hear that you suffer from osteoarthritis. Recently I got gum infection and I am terrified to see my dentist next week. Imagine what you had to go through. Honestly, I am very lucky that I get insured through my work and as a Canadian we are very privileged to have a great healthcare system. I never heard of this insurance company but it sounds like you are headed to the right direction. You can’t mess with your health and being insured should be the number one priority! Great post babe!

  14. I’ve been using Bupa for more than 2 years now! I love their services. Lucky for me, the Bupa health insurance comes with my work contract in Hong Kong, and almost more than half of the expats in Hong Kong use Bupa. It’s quite convenient to have Bupa and they cover most of the my needs and medicines. Great choice and I strongly recommend Bupa too!

  15. It’s really inspiring to me that despite all you have been through with your osteoporosis and other ailments you are so positive and optimistic and such an amazing blogger and content creator. I totally agree that having something you don’t need is far better than needing something you don’t have and it definitely sounds like you’ve found the right route with Bupa.

      Thanks for you lovely reply
Yes osteoarthritis is definitely not fun to have neither is Hashimotos or my other ailments but I try to do the best with what I have.

  16. I’ve hear a lot about this insurance company. I think they are the best one. They have great insurance packages!
It is so important to have a good insurance and not worry about your or your family members health.

  17. I’m with Bupa too!

We are actually so privileged in Aus to have cover for things people think won’t happen to them. It definitely does ease the stress of everyday life.

Health is so important and should alway be thought about. I swear By having health insurance as I would much prefer to be covered than have to foot the bill for any kind of incidental ❤️

  18. As a full-time blogger, I have to always feel good. So, I take care of myself (sport, regime, diet, etc).
I also have some problems with health and I’m searching for the right healthcare that is not very expensive.
I live in Russia, and I’m a bit disappointed that I’ve never seen such amazing service of health insurance like Bupa. I’m happy that you find the best option for you.
Probably, I’ll advise it to my friends from Australia!

  19. I live in America yet I feel that our health care system is incredibly flawed! My daughter recently was in the ER for a dislocated elbow, and I was shocked to receive the bills that came after and how many “doctors” that she had seen billed me for a simple pop in the room and check up to see how she is doing. I wasn’t happy at all and the insurance company said there is nothing they can do because we didn’t meet our family plan deductible. It is hard to get health coverage for yourself especially when you are working for yourself, I am glad that you found a program that works for you in Australia. We need to have some sort of medical reform here in the states.

  20. I think health care should just be on everyone’s mind the moment they are born. Obviously, I didn’t take it seriously until quite recently actually. We always take it for granted especially since we’re still young. We tend to think we don’t need it, but I’m so glad you wrote a post about this because in the US, health care is about to change drastically. Health insurance is gong to sky rocket and it’s really sad to know that so many families will be affected negatively.

    xoxo,

    Maggie S.

  21. I totally believe that health is number one. Without it, we are nothing and can do nothing. I am sorry to hear that you suffer from osteoarthritis and other ailments but I am glad that you take great care of yourself and make exercise a priority as well as finding the right healthcare for you. Finding insurance is totally a pain in the butt and so many technical aspects that are difficult to understand. It sounds like Bupa is amazing and really helps figure out the right plan for you. I definitely couldn’t do it on my own so it’s great to know that Bupa can help. Thanks for letting us know! xoxo, Christine
