Three Monkeys Place Curators Event
What happens when Melbourne’s finest Collaboration of Instagram bloggers congregate together under one roof? Not sure? Melbourneyum.com is proud to go onsite to witness the gregarious behaviors of the lifestyle/food blogger in it’s natural habitat.
This is my second time attending a Collective Curators event ,the first was held at @yomgyogurt where we all satisfied our hunger for burgers, fries and fro-yo.It was a hive of laughs and I got a real sense of community finally revealing the many faces behind those Instagram handles.
This time round Charmaine @charmainengc & Cherrie @lovecherriiee the organisers arranged for us to meet at @3monkeysplace for our meetup. The girls have been instrumental in not only bringing the community together but facilitate the sharing of local ideas, influences and up and coming brands.
The bloggers came from very diverse backgrounds and walks of life ranging from people involved with fashion arts and media. This social platform is a great way to showcase and share industry hints tips ideas and knowledge including but not limited to bolstering their own social networking reach.
Today’s event was a “Summer Session” where we had an exclusive sneak peek at the new summer dishes at “Three Monkeys Place” owned by Dennis and his wife.Locals of the Doncaster area, and observing a gap in the culinary market, they decided to change what had once been the neglected region of Doncaster into a modern food hot spot, with some Asian Fusion flare.
“Three Monkeys Place“ offers delicious thought out menu choices such as Bircher Muesli, mouth watering Brioche French Toast,Angel hair pasta and the Beets & Thyme Salmon all accompanied by artful eye to plating. There was lots of “oohs!” and “aahhs!” when the food was brought out, courtesy of Chef “Keith Wong“ who has a background in fine dining.
To start with I ordered a Cold pressed juice-Garden Green made by @iloveayomo, while eyeing the menu I spied the Sweet Monkey dish I had previously seen on Instagram ,my heart began to palpitate!A combination of fried roti ,banana, mixed berries and mascarpone just what I needed to satiate my beating heart.
Did it live up to my sensory expectations? Oh yea it tasted amazing! The flakey fried pancakes and mascarpone made this dish totally unique, and distinguished it from your usual standard breakfast menu fair.
As I viewed other people’s dishes being delivered to each dinner, I couldn’t help but notice the level of presentation, everything was meticulously styled to a high level and yes I would love to come back and try them myself.
At the end of the successful @collectivecurators event we were each treated to gift bag’s!Containing numerous items including, scrumptious cupcakes from @lawofcakes, Matcha powder from @matcha_maiden a vegan brownie from @vegan_mixes and caramel popcorn from @sweetpetitecreations and finally cookie’s from @whoopiescookies.
I was pleased to meet @charmainengc and @lovecherriiee founder’s of @collectivecurators and the beautiful @changeroomfoods who I follow on Instagram but have never met in real life.I also met the very friendly @melbourne_explorer and @topfoodmelbourne,and many Kudos to see @instabuffet once again.
When these meetups take place, it makes me think this is what life’s all about, eating good food sharing a laugh with fellow food lovers❤️
I had so much fun at “Three Monkeys Place”, with them letting us loose to do what we do best, take lots of pictures!!
